A point of note is my extensive business and cultural experience in Japan, where I have lived twice and spent a total of six years.
From 2006 to 2010, I built the consulting business of Infinita Inc. in Tokyo from scratch and advised some of the world’s leading telecommunications carriers, Africa’s largest media company and government institutions in Asia and Europe on digital innovation.
In the process, I fell in love with this wonderful country, developed a deep appreciation of the culture and learned to speak the language so fluently that not only can I get myself into trouble in doing so, but also talk talk my way back out of it if necessary.
After my return, I spent several years in Germany, then moved to Tokyo in 2017 for a second (and very possibly not the last) time to lead the digital transformation of retail heavyweight Otto Group’s local subsidiaries.
Given this backstory, it’s perhaps no wonder that I am regularly involved in projects that bridge the gap between Japan and Europe - for example, defining the digital strategy of a German commercial vehicle manufacturer in Japan, or helping a Japanese semiconductor company improve leadership development in their German subsidiary.
So if you are faced with challenges relating to working with Japan, in whichever form - then you have come to the right place.
