Mission
Conduct a digital readiness assessment at a leading global commercial vehicle manufacturer based in Japan. Identify potential cost savings and revenue growth through digitalization initiatives. Develop a governance framework to prioritize and manage all digitalization projects in the subsidiaries in Japan and India.
Approach
- Data collection by means of 50 structured interviews across R&D, production, operations, HR, finance and other support functions
- Business case analysis of more than 200 ongoing digitalization initiatives and additional use cases
- Review of the existing technology portfolio
- Definition of the roles, responsibilities and processes of a Digital Transformation Office (DTO) as a future steering body
Results
- Identification of cost savings and revenue potential in the high single-digit million range (EUR)
- Recommendation regarding the technology portfolio (technology stack)
- Roadmap for implementing the short and medium-term digitalization strategy
- Ready-to-implement governance model for company-wide steering of all digitalization and innovation initiatives and projects
